If you could fish anywhere in the world, where would you go and for what species. i myself have a couple. 1. river ebro for wels. 2. the amazon, for catfish of all types. europe for carp, we have alot of carp here, but not alot of mirrors and ive never seen a leather.tench and crucian carp. this is a start i guess. just wanted to hear other fishermans dreams.

It would still be a 3lb roach in perfect condition...................okay, I would also settle for a 2lb roach or even 1lb 14ozs if truth be known......in perfect condition mind!!

For me it would have to be Mahseer on a river in Southern India.
Awesome scenery,
Fabulous culture,
Friendliest people,
Stunning food and a Barbel like fish to 80 lbs. :)

5oz gudgeon from the Grand Union.................I caught them very close to that weight (if not on it,back in the early 60's mind!) from the Regents Park Canal mostly late in the evening and into dark from under some of the many bridges that span the canal.....also huge sticklebacks that could swallow a whole maggot...............not to mention some very decent roach in perfect condition..

Sorry, I've gone off thread a bit!

ps lovely fish at that weight though...

Big tarpon on a fly-rod please. Or a big mahseer. I've had smaller ones of both species but never anything to shout about. A marlin would be nice but it's never really the angler who catches it, imo, it's the skipper.

All of my dream fish are British.......a 30lb river pike for instance.

The "foriegn" fish mean very little.
