I took a trip to the river taff saturday and caught a brace of grayling one of whiched looked well over 2lb possibly pushing 3lb (i didn't have my scales) anyway it was by far the biggest grayling i've ever seen let alone caught cant wait for next saturday.
Anyone else catching big grayling if so what do you class as a specimen?

It depends on the waters you fish, but a 2lber seems to be the benchmark.I would be more than happy with anything over a 1lb to be honest.

I'll take my scales and a camera next week Nigel just hope i dont jinx myself.
My local river the rhummney is crammed full of grayling but they're mostly about 1/2lB nothing near the size i caught saturday, the taff is a much larger river.
The spot i fish on the taff is out of the way with no signs of any other anglers just wild fish.

thanks nigel i'll let you know if i catch anymore big ones i have a feeling on the right day you could catch a bag full of big grayling from this particular pool i did loose a few decent fish which could well have been more big grayling.
