silstar xcite match rod

have just been given a silstar x-cite match rod, but is missing the to section its a 13 ft rod , does anyone know how much it cost approx and where could i get a top section if i can get a top section i will let my son who has just started fishing have it many thanks

It was a budget price job, not the very bottom of the range though!

The model was out in the mid-late 80's, best bet would be to try old silstar suppliers, look through some old 1980s mags if you have any, failing that try ebay!

is the X-cite on a green blank? if it is I used to have one back in the late 80's and as Eddie pointed out it only cost me around ?30. probably not worth repairing.

Thats the one Dave, I think they had an RRP of ?30, and ended up getting sold at ?18-?22 or so a few years later!

I've still got a traverse x match rod knocking round somewhere!

like you say would probably better off buying him a new rod for xmas thanks for you help guys

ingy have a look at the Shimano Hyperloop float rods, very good value.

Eddie I had the Traverse X carp rods. before I sold all my gear about 8 years ago...(idiot)
