Hey All,

I am in the market for a bait runner reel but not an expensive one. I have two in mind but Im not sure which to go for. Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks.

1) Okuma Proforce £26.99

2) Okuma Longbow LB-50 £24.99

It may seem obvious to go for the more expensive one but sometimes its not the case!

Cheers!

:)

Have a look around at your local tackle shops/markets. In my town there are 2 stores (and a market stall) selling refurbished Okuma reels at good prices so far Ive managed to pick up an Epix eb50 (lovely reel, very smooth) for £25 which is an absolute steal as well as an Interceptor also very good although it has nothing on thr Epix for £15. Both of these reels are better then the two listed in my opinion the epix certainly is.
Granted these are reconditioned reels but they have been given a full service and those from the stores have a 6/12 month warranty and should (hopefully) last a few years. Allways worth checking local stores and markets as I cannot find prices online anywhere near as good as these:D

The Proforce however is a very good reel for the money.... as your on a tight budget I won't even mention Shimanos but prepare yourself for a billion recomndations :p

I've been using the Okuma Longbow (LB-65) for 5 years now. Never let me down. I haven't maintained them in any way. They still keep going strong. It's a "workhorse" model, I reckon.

Although Epix are good. But given the choices you have, I'd really go for the longbow.
