THE Gravesend Open beach fishing competition on Sunday, October 22, is still open to new entrants.
The event, sponsored by the Gravesend Messenger, Gravesham Leisure and Dolphin Angling Centre, has a ?500 prize for the overall winner, with ?250 up for grabs for the runner-up and ?150 for third place.
The draw for zones will take place at 8.30am on the day of the event, with fishing from 11am to 3.30pm.
Entry fee is ?10 for adults and ?5 for juniors and senior citizens, with the total prize fund standing at ?1,500. Awards and prizes will be presented at 5pm outside the Ship & Lobster pub.
Application forms can be picked up from Dolphin Angling Centre in Queen Street, Gravesend.
