Around the country do people have local names for Pike or Pike fishing.It is not for me but for a youngster who is doing a project on dialects etc.Thanks.

Up here pike are called Vermin!!

A lot of places have legendary 'big' pike. Usually called something like 'Big Bertha'. That's what our local one was called. Complete rubbish of course the pool was full of jacks but when you are kids...

I think around Stafford some older guys still call youg pike 'pickerel' after Isaak Walton first mentioned them evolving from pickerel weed in the 'compleat angler'.
Like Rob says though there are far more names knocking about for pike anglers than there are for pike !!!!!!!
