He told me that one of the main groundbait suppliers are now able to supply groundbait at about ?3 more a bag - for the same amount of groundbait that is, by adding water. In other words, the groundbait is ready mixed!!

Is this the way that angling is progressing; From instant Noddy carp puddles to instant ready mixed Noddy groundbait?

Sounds similar to the ready mixed screen wash scam! Halfrauds are laughing all the way to the bank!

All these things are buyer driven, not the other way round. If the customer doesn't want them, or thinks they cost too much and won't buy them, they'll disappear off the market.

How long ago were we saying similar things about bottled and tinned hemp, flavoured luncheon meat, coloured and flavoured sweetcorn, bomb weights in fancy packaging.

And Dynamite have been selling ready mixed groundbait in tins for several years.

We set the market by buying it. You can't blame the manufacturers for selling it.

And he was cursing Graham because he didn't think of it himself.

And being a blue blooded Tory capitalist, I certainly don't blame the manufacturers. As dear old Maggie once said: "You can't buck the market."

Ready made rigs are the ones that I can't understand people buying.
Although I suppose they do come in handy for handicapped people.

But long long before that we had (lashes).
For anybody too young to remember lashes they were a hooklength.
How long has this been going on for? Was there anything before the lash that was ready made?

The Boke of St Albans gives instuctions for making your own hooks.

By Izaak Walton's time, ready-made hooks could be bought so easily that he gives no instructions for making them.

How the purists must have cursed him!
