Broads angling is under serious threat, I'm here to ask for your help.
The Broads Authority is shortly to introduce a Bill to Parliament. In it are clauses that can be used to directly attack angling, please see:
Speaker's Corner
My main concern is that those of us who specialise in pike fishing will be barred from fishing areas by the ever growing conservation lobby that has long wanted us off the like of Hickling and Horsey. But it doesn't end there. Any angler who uses a boat on the Broads is under threat. Every angler that uses a pole is under threat. Anglers need to be counted.
In a moment I shall post a link to a petition that is to be presented to Barry Gardiner M.P.. Read it, okay so its written by yachtsmen, but much of it applies to us.
The Broads Authority wants to be able to tell us where, when and how we might go about our angling. The drafts of the Bill are in the public domain, the small print regarding control and 'directions' makes ominous reading.

Petition on Line
It's also posted on the Pike & Predator and AnglersNet forums.
PLEASE, please mention that you are an angler. For your information I am involved with the Broads Authority. It is anglers best interests to be seen.
