Firstly apologies for the school boy question.......

I'm only just starting to get into to feeder/carp fishing.

I've picked up a cheapo rod pod and bite alarm which came with swingers and thought I'd put it all together in the garden before taking it out.

Everything was fine but I noticed the ball bearings that the line clips into on the swingers are really tight and took quite a bit of effort to remove the line from them and now I'm thinking if I pick up the rod quickly to strike a bite it's gonna lift up the whole pod (it's a very light cheap pod) am I best off getting a new swinger or bobbin with a plastic clip? Also the ball bearings are on a ring and I thought if the ring moves round the line is going to get caught and not come out.

I'm using a hair rigged inline method feeder

On a lot of swingers you can adjust the tension of the ball bearings by screwing them round, one way will tighten the other loosens them. See if twisting the swinger close to the ball bearings loosens them.
