Barge Blockade against cuts

its the first I,ve heard about the cuts, anyone else heard of them?

Waterway users blockading a waterway - that's really going to get Blair wringing his hands.
Slide a barge down from the aqueduct to block the North Circular, and they might get some media attention...and locked up.

I agree, I doubt if blockading the locks for 2 hours will have much impact but its the first I,ve heard of the ?9 million cut in funding for British Waterways. It will be a shame if the canals start to fall into disrepair again as it will affect all the canal users, not just the boaters. Just found this link http://www.saveourwaterways.org.uk It gives some idea of what Defra's up to, or not
