Hi folks!

Firstly, sorry to post another "this rod v this rod" thread... :eek:mg:

I've been away from fishing for 3 years, having sold all my gear. I'm now back at it and need to get myself some new rods.

I want something that'll cast a bag and lead or deadbait and lead with relative ease, without breaking the bank.

I've narrowed my choice down to either the Fox Ranger XT or the Greys Prodigy SX, both 3lb test.

Both seem to be good rods for the cash and having always bought Fox rods before, I'm probably leaning that way this time, but Greys seem to produce some good kit too.

I notice the Rangers have dropped off the Fox site too, so potentially they'll be on sale to make way for whatever's replacing them.

I know threads like this are always very subjective, but I'm looking for reasons to steer clear of either.

Thanks in advance!
