New Political Party - Animals Count

A new political party has been formed today. It's called Animals Count. I don't think they have a website yet. One of their aims is that they want to ban all hunting (this is item 5 on their manifesto, fishing is not mentioned but they may count it under hunting). Go here http://localpolitics.meetup.com/85/files/ to download their manifesto (sorry I don't know how to post live links). There's a bit more about them here http://localpolitics.meetup.com/85/?gj=sj5 Online, to date, they have 19 members of which 9 are considered 'inactive'. One member joined (online) today. The new party has been mentioned on London radio and, no doubt, they'll get some more members at their formation 'do' in Kensington today. Anyone know anything more about these people?

I was listening to one of their number on radio 5 live this morning and it appears that these people are the political side of the animal rights movements. They realise that they couldn't possibly be a viable party under the ALF banner so changed the name.

Apparently one of these parties exist in Holland and they have actually got a member into parliament but the Dutch voting system is proportional representation unlike ours. They have no chance of getting in here and will be a bit like the Loony party and lose their deposit every election.

quite probably not a bad thing, at least they will be wasting their money on some thing other than harrassing people going about their legitimate business.
