Hi all,
I am thinking about buying some tackle from Canada and having it shipped over here. How does this sort of thing work on the VAT? do I have to pay when I get it over here?
Any help would be great,
thanks,

I don't know the exact legal position but i have bought reels from Canada,USA,finland and Russia, only time i got stung for tax was USA,,,but delivery from Canada was 4 weeks,3 weeks in their customs...oh the stuff from USA was new,and had an export form stuck to parcel .other reels were used so this could have made the difference..if it's a private sale you may be ok....think the tax is import tax not vat, about 10% as i recall....you know you want it so you gonna have it...after all it's xmas lol.

Cheers bud,
great help. I will be looking around after xmas.
Main thing I am looking for, are some waders and waders boots. I fancy the breathable ones. I have been looking over here, and now with the extra Tax, will work out about the same. I'll keep looking.
Many thanks,merry Christmas,
Carl
