Any thoughts as to when we're holding this in 2007 and would Ron be good enough to organise it again?

I think he will (he'd better, or he's in trouble!), and it'll probably be around the same time as last year.

No need to start organising until say March.

Late April or early May is a good time.

Very much so.

Press Manor is a nice little trout fishery located in North Derbyshire about 8 miles out of Chesterfield on the Matlock road.

It consists of a 6 acre Victorian reservoir stocked with rainbow and brown trout.

I is also a day when we introduce fly fishing to newcomers.

By the way I have been given some special de-odourising face masks to test. They look like the sort of thing a surgeon wears in an operating theatre. They are designed in the States for people who work in very smelly environments like morgues, cess pits etc. They consist of a layer of specially treated activated carbon built into the face mask which removes organic odour very well.

As Barney is most likely to be there, this will be an excellent field test. Masks will be available for only ?15.00 each.

I'll have two if I'm travelling with him again.

You will not give me any laughs Gav. We all have to start somewhere and I'll be delighted to give you a few tips if you come to our fish-in.

The best tip I can give you is to stay upwind of Barney!!

I am thinking of awarding two trophies this year.

In addition to the Andy Wright Trophy, I am thinking along the lines of a small memento to the most improved complete beginner.

What do you think?

This is the Fishing Magic/Andy Wright trophy --
I think the one you won was probably the Congleton Fly Tyers/Andy Wright trophy ....

Derbyshire: best beer, best cheese, best puddings.
I'll try and make it again, I'm determined to catch something on the fly.

It is a branch of angling I'd like to get into but need more experience.

I don't suppose I could borrow a rod and reel again chavender please?

I'll remember my landing net and forceps this time though.

:O)

I'll be taking spare kit for beginners/new comers, as I'm sure others will too.

There will be something you can have a go with so come along, the more the merrier.

Paul,

You going to be trying for Pike on the Fly then?
