Hi,

Yet another returnee to angling, after a nearly 30 year break.

My real loves are anything to do with nature and being outdoors, so fishing fits in pretty well with that agenda.

Since starting up again late last year I've been trying to feel my way back into fishing bit by bit, learning slowly as I go. I started with waggler fishing for smallish carp on commercials, and have been gradually expanding techniques and kit to target different fish ever since.

I've done a little bit of canal fishing (that took me right back to my childhood in the 80s) and river fishing, and intend to start doing much more on the rivers.

A recent two-hour dawn session running a stick float down a local river (for the first time in all those years) to claim a handful of pristine (if small) roach was probably the highlight of my fishing year, although I must confess I sometimes find the lure of double-figure carp on a local commercial quite hard to resist. Must stay strong...
