I had a Fox one piece for about 12 years and I used to stand in the shower with it on and gently rub the dirt off then hang to dry
another thing I would not fold the suit I used to keep it hanging up and in the car it would be last in and laid out so it wasnt folded .

Take a leaf out of Andy Nellist's book and do not bother!

There area lot of specialist cleaning products for Goretex type breathable fabrics which you can just bob into the washer with the garment.

When I get back from a particularly muddy trip,I just lay the suit out in the garden and turn the hose on and use a broom to clean off the muck.
Or,alternatively if I'm cleaning the car,a rarer occurance than cleaning my suit,I wear the suit, and brush myself down at the same time, with the power hose.

Nikwax Tech Wash is what you use first to clean the suit before using one of their proofer like TX Direct wash-in or TX Direct spray-on

www.nikwax.com

If you sign up on the site you can enter a free competition to win one of their products. Last week I won a sample of TX Direct Wash-in. You can enter every three months, last time I won the Tech wash.

Also the site has loads of useful info on outdoor gear care.

Keith,
You're likely to find that the dirt on the material, even dust, actually reduces the waterproofing more than anything else.

People here have recommended Nikwax products and I will stand them as well.

Use the Tech Wash and then the reproofing product Tx-Direct .

You might also want to run a warm (not hot)iron over them after. Water runs off like it's a duck's back after that
