Learn to Fish

I have recently started fishing after several years, i have today just bought a 10' feeder rod with 3 spare tips and a reel at a good price from my local angling supplier, as i have only ever used 10' match rods and fished straight throught using self cocking floats, i am a bit wary of cocking up using my new gear, i obviously need to know how to use feeder rods in the correct way, i am off fishing in the morning and any tips would be very much appreciated.
