were can i get traps and wot sort to catch sprat and sand eel next to apier

As far as i know the netting of both spratts and sandeels is done using boats.You could try and contact BRIDPORT GUNDRY MARINE which supplies commercial fishing nets and gear.Another possible source of information may be THE FISHING TIMES,this is a specialist publication for commercial fishermen.

You can scrape sandeel using a shovel/scythe type device, the way they used to do it in the 50's.

It's basically a shovel with a net attached to the back of it.
You dig through the sand and it filters through the net leaving the sandeels behind.
Bloody hard work mind.
