It's all fishable in some way, James, but often very shallow if you can't cast more than 100 yards.
You'll need lug, rag or peeler crab for bait, and the usual rigs apply. From what I cabn gather, flatties are the main target, with some codling, whiting and bass in summer. But that's info derived from some books.
Your best bet by a mile is to get to any of the east coast tackle shops for a recce; talk to the man behind the counter, and ask for help. As long as you buy something from him he'll be only too pleased to help.
The boat fishing might be a good bet, starting around May. Main ports are Skeggie and Grimsby.
