Hello

I'm about to buy a couple of baitrunner reels for carp fishing and the occasional pike. I've come across a very good deal on the old Shimano GTE (think the 6000 will be the right choice for my fishing). The trouble is, that I can choose between the B (the "metal-colour") and C model - same price! I've read great reviews of the B model, but the C model is newer with an extra ball bearing. On the other hand newer models are not always better - especially with Shimano (damn I miss the old Aero GT's).

Any opinions?

Cheers, Rasmus

I got Cs to replace ageing Aero GT5010s. The similarities are pretty obvious. Having had a play with Bs too, you'd barely be able to tell them apart if you were blindfolded. Realistically, if they are equally used or unused, it comes down to which colour you prefer.
