As it says..... was booked in on the last one but couldn't make it as the other half was in hospital.

Had a consolation taster courtesy of our Neil M for which many thanks, but would definitely like to have another bash or two if poss this season.

Preferably on a Sunday if poss, as the only day both NM and I are both off at the same time each week, otherwise a Monday or Tuesday pretty please...

Not sure if this post is still open, but I've never caught a grayling, so would consider this. Depends when/where and if you can put with me ;)

I can only do the weekends so I'll check with Lindsay as to which weekend days might be free and we'll take it from there.

I'll arrange it of no one else steps forward.

You're a hero sir !

I would have liked to be able to offer but I am afraid that I am insufficiently in possession of the funds necessary to take on the risk of organisation of suchlike. Same problem with the Catfish fish in idea that fizzled out earlier this year.

It occurs to me that while it is nice that there are no membership fees for FM this is one of the slight downsides - I belong to a car forum or two where my £15 or so a year is more than well worth it, as spent on things like hiring a rolling road for a day's tuning for the assembled membership, or summer bbq's at Brands, or... u get the piccy.

Is there perhaps scope for a voluntary fiver a year side membership of the "FM fish in's" org ? I guess not, as it would in itself take as much cooordination and organisation by some overburdened and unthanked volunteer as ever, plus wrangling over what events exactly the funds should finance....

Anyway, back to the point, thanks PJ !

(Although I'd be grateful if you would please stop sending the viagra adverts, thought much appreciated and all that, but....enough is enough and the other half now suspects I am having an affair)

Windy,

The problem with arranging Fish-Ins is that you never know how many will attend, but are on the hook for the full amount to the fishery.

In times past it wasn't so much of a problem as you always knew that enough anglers would appear on the day. Recent fish-ins have been poorly attended so it is now more difficult to arrange.

That virus is a deep rooted beggar, I've run every bit of software known to man to no avail.

It seems to lie dormant for a while then resurfaces with a vengence . . . . . . . . .

It's something you've had, maybe, but now they have all the addresses, whatever you do won't help.

You have to stop them getting in in the first place and even then, it could be on someone else's PC that it happened when you included them in one of your emails.

Get away with you both. You've got all these adverts saved in "favourites" ;)

As for Th'Itchen I'm definately in. Having foolishly organised a FI myself I know how hard it is prising money off people. I am good for my ticket money even if for some reason I couldn't make whatever date is decided.

Can't do weekend of 25/26 December though...Mrs S has some bloody do planned.

yes ,the premier inn ,i know it well ,i passed it several times ,trying to find the travel lodge where i'd booked a room .i was down there in march for a end of season bash with "AN" site .i know where the travel lodge is now and its just off the motorway and the fishery is literley a mile away ,at the other end of the eastliegh village almost

its a long old haul down to hampshire for me 4-5 hours drive overnight , wether its to timsbury or that bit further to L.I.F ,then a overnight stay and long drive home next day ,but the fishing is usually worth it ,and you only live once .

once a date is sorted ,i'll book a room ,i might do two nights this time .

i have a thought ,if its about numbers going ,in these hard financial times ,we could go dutch as it where with anglersnet site (both sites tend to go there anyway and it'll save booking twice & two trips for me ) say and have a joint trip and fill the booking for the day ,give everyone a chance to meet other anglers ,both sites get 10 rods each ,this will minimise drop outs and mean less chance of a organiser being out of pocket ,but keep it purley as a social event ,no them and us ,just like minded anglers ,fishing together at the same place at the same time .

oh i nearly forgot ,if i'm go ,i'll be on hand if anyone fancies learning to wallis cast or loop cast for that matter or even just a go with a centrepin or closed faced reel (i'll have both +spares with me) for the first time ,i'm happy to show you how ,whally casting wise the first 20-30 foot on me (not that you'll need to cast further on the L.I.F ),any longer a cast is upto you and practice .
