Any better fish coming out with the weather warming up?

Have your catches improved with this warmer snap (in the south)...
What's working cos I'm planning a trip this weekend and could use a few tips?

I went to my pits today to do a bit of lure fishing but they're all still almost completely frozen with ice an inch and a half thick! Every duck on the whole nature reserve seems to be in the only two small clear areas. In fact the density of ducks is so great you could almost walk on them!

I'm going to go to a stretch of My local Lea Valley Relief channel on sunday. Will fish one rod with paterostered dead bait and another with lures to keep me warm and active!
I'll report back my progress
(dare not say success!)
