What line to use

Now the closed season is here, I can get on and sort my stuff out, as part of this I will be changing the line on my float reels. In FM members opinions, which make line do you find best for stick float fishing?

Thanks for all your views, this will no doubt help in my decision.

Something that floats.

I used to use bayer perlon, but don't do much stick fishing so this might well be surpassed now.

I think Drennan do a good one, it might be Drennan floatfish, possibly worth a look.

I have used Drennan Float fish for years for trotting.

John Ledger used the same.

I still use Bayer Perlon.

I think it's important to use as light a line as you can get away with as the thinner diameter is less likely to be pulled around by the wind and will lift off the water easier. I also use a floating line spray.

I'm with Ron on the Drennan Floatfish - not the lowest diameter but a good, dull-finish line that holds a knot really well. I've never gone below 3lb BS for the reel line.
