Kryston Mantis Dark

Saw it advertised in CF, but I thought it might have been darker than it looks on your photo Graham.

What's it like in bulk, as you see it on the spool say.

Mantis is a great hooklink whatever.

it looks like coated silkworm, but with a black rib to it - much darker than in Grahams pic

Super, smashin', marvellous!

Might be a better match even for our back lake that has a very dark silty bottom, although we have another new one coming online sometime. Don't know what that's like yet.

Like your series Froth. Very good.

Dave Chiltern recently sent me some of the Mantis Dark. I will be trying it out on my Bream and Tench fishing, I have used the green Mantis with good results, so I already have confidence in it. The new 'Dark' should be interesting. And enough of it to last me well into next season.

I bet Graham has some Snyde as well to test out. Lot of good stuff comes from Dave, always interesting.

I've just added a comparison photo (Mantis Dark and Silkworm) to the article.

Here it is anyway, as you can see, on the spool it looks a lot darker than the extreme close-up in the article.

Cakey, just had a word with Dave and the answer is that Leslies and The Tackle Box have it in stock, and most major tackle shops should have it by now.

However, the retailers who buy Kryston products from their appointed wholesalers Leeda, Waterline, etc, will have to wait around 4 weeks for delivery.

Knotless knot on the hook, and a five turn grinner on the swivel.

I just bought some Silkworm and it wasnt as light in colour as the one in the picture.
Instead of white and blu my spool seems to be white and brown?

Got some. Looks loverly!!!!

I always use a figure 8 loop knot at the swivel these days. Don't know how I got into this habit, but it works and allows a bit of free movement at the swivel.
