Chesil

I'm planning on driving down to Chesil (portland end) this weekend and wondered if anyone has any info on how it's fishing lately?

What fish can I expect to catch at this time of year and what sort of baits would be best?

I'm a bit of a novice at sea fishing so any advice is welcome.

Plaice seams to be the main target at the moment, ragworm on a size 1 or 2.

plenty of doggies as usual.

chance of rays, sandeel seams best.

its that weird time of year when the speices chance, my mate went fishing off portsmouth sat night, had plaice, bass, pout, whiting and a small codling.

just take a selection of bait and try them all, you never know what you will catch at the moment.
