All canoeists, want rights to ALL Rivers, free of charge and without owners permission!

If your not in favour of the canoeists, are you aware of this petition against legislation, allowing canoe access to all waters?

Please click on link if you want to sign the petition

Never mind, Wendy. I've signed if only to get an email later from our Tone. He never writes to me otherwise.

Really Jeff?

Well, he writes to me all the time pestering me with questions;

What should I do about Iraq?
Why are the gunners on a losing streak?
What job should I give Gordie Brown(nose)?
and are Pellets really the bait from the Devil?

You ought to get out for a few more dinners at plush places my old mate ;-)

Will not be able to fish from the conoe unless you have a licence for that stretch. Unless it tidal then you can.

So I can park up in the middle of the Trent below Collingham weir!

That'll be fun ;-)

I think the title of the thread says it all...........OUR Rivers.............that means everyones, doesn't it???

Live and let live, the majority of coeists are ok, it's the minority (as in all cases) that spoil it for the majority!

On the tidal sections you pay for access to the bank not the fishing rights. I think its something to do with the Magna Carta that nobody owns the land between the High tide mark and the Low tide mark. Which is one reason sea naglers never get charged day tickets at the best marks ;0)

Bryan,

Never say never!

Some of our local waters are tidal and private - the Royalty for one, and you need a day ticket in Christchurch harbour (for most of it).

As I've stated on the previous thread I'm for cooperation with our canoe cousins rather than confrontation, however is there a petition to "The great leader" - be it Tone, Gord or Millipede - suggesting that canoeists pay an annual licence at least equivalent to the National Rod Licence. That I would sign.

Bryan, I believe that the Magna Carta free fishing, is only for the Thames. Free fishing for all from Egham to the sea. This may apply to some other rivers too, but I dont know.

This is one of the main reasons we have to buy a rod license, and not a fishing license.

in magna carter it's for the whole coast of england.
that's why they can't clobber you with a licence or charge you to fish it.
