How do you pronounce "Diawl Bach?

For you horrid coarse fishahs it means "Little Devil" in Welsh and is the name of a very effective nymph.

And by the way Monk, a very effective nymph does not mean a willing ruffe slapper!

Yes, Ron. As in 'Dai'll back that horse at 16 to 1'

Sounds like 'dial back' with a throaty 'ch' sound at the end.

but if you put Little Devil in it says that in welsh it is DIEFLYN

Mind you, he's probably from South Wales where they haven't used the Welsh language in yonks!

I always thought it was pronounced "Dowl Bach" with a hard gutteral sound on the -ch in "Bach".

"Jones the Uncle" should be able to confirm this for me..........!!!!!!!

"from South Wales where they haven't used the Welsh language in yonks!"

Even in south Wales, Welsh is still the second more popular language spoken.

After Japanese, now.

A little less of the Evans the Heavens and Jones the Bones please....

And I have the proud distinction of having been told by a native Welsh speaker that I had the worst and most inaccurate pronunciation of Welsh words that she had ever heard, even worse than Englishmen ! So don't look to me for help.....

(I think it is Dye+owl run together('Dyowl') and Bar +"ch" sound in the back of the throat as in the Scottish 'Och')
