Need help with my new Penn 525 mag reel

Hi have just moved on from a fixed spool to my new mag 525, however i cannot get my reel to retrieve the line, is it broken or do i need to do sumthing to it ? please help joy of new toy fading fast thx

Is the spool release lever in the correct i.e.
forward position,if so is the star drag wheel
tightened up ?

it was jammed in the brake off pos, have sorted it now tho. been out today with new rod aswell caught 4 cod. thx for the reply
