One thing for sure, no one else will ever take her.

Not sure when it was taken but...
From the Peeblesshire Trout Fishing Ass Rules: The trout season extends from 1st of April until the 30th of September.

Probably accounts for the head being cut off

This person is claiming this fish as fish of the month for November on another foum, see link below;:eek::eek:

My record Wild brown trout 7LB 5 OZ , River TWEED - Fishing Forum for Fishing

To catch and kill an out of season specimen and then try and claim it as a fish of the month beggars belief, mods should deal with it, or maybe leave it up to show what kind of person has posted it. :(:(:(

I get it, its a retrospective record claim for the Tweed and fish of the month on another forum, for a fish caught and killed out of season in November two years ago. I think thats what he's trying to say pulling the information together.

It was caught Sep 2004
I had lost the photo for years but my mother found 1
It was not meant to of been fish of the month caught in that month,
I just thought i would share the photo i have lost for 7 years
It is all above board
The TWEED Foundation read its scales
they told me it was at least 12 years old But
may of been many years older
It was the OLDEST fish scales they had ever read in the whole
TWEED catchment area Ever :D

Hmm.

I am not normally rude - far from it - I go out of my way to avoid being so - and won't be here, now, but you, cannibal, will find that trout fishing has moved on a distance from chucking a spinner or a plug, clunking the lunker you've caught then parading it in front of many many thousands of fishers - the great majority, now - who know better.

At the time , I was salmon fishing
i had the permission from the owners to fish for trout too
There is a Great deal of skill in fishing a spinner in a Large river like the tweed
The river level was sitting at 3 feet above normal level
The water was muddy , Unfishable with the fly
Often people who fish certain types of fly are doing no more than lure fishing
That trout was only 1 of 2 fish i have taken in years
I return , Salmon ,Sea trout, Brown , Rainbows etc.........
Many areas cannot be accessed by a fly but can with a spinner
I use a Large treble hook on my lures that my Quarry are never deep hooked
Unlike pleny flies i have seen lodged down the fishes throat
So , lure fishing is an art , Not just a chuck it & hope method:wh

Indeed, for I (The Chairman, in the link below) have long been pretty good at it - View topic - Waterlog - but I also know how to fish all methods - including fly, very very well - and know, too, that when you fluke a freak, you merely return it to the water as quickly as possible and not make a huge thing about it.

Well spinners at least that clears up the facts of the capture.

Setting aside the morals of methods and fish taking, surely you understand people don't like being fed bull, intentionally or unintentially. You put an old headless picture up on here in December without qualifying when it was caught. You do the same on another forum and let it go forward for the current November 2011 fish of the month vote (which would also make it an out of season kill). You put it up on "you tube" December 2011 saying it was caught a couple of years ago, that would make the capture in 2009. Then you come on here again and say it was caught in 2004.

Hopefully you can understand why people have pointed these things out.

At least now spinners you have cleared up the facts of the capture and will perhaps post any future reports with a bit more clarity.

To be honest spinners it was also sad to see you had killed such a magnificent specimen, your choice I know, but still sad to see. I have caught ferox from the Highlands and I excercised my choice to return them all.
