Good read .I seem to remember that Collins have dropped Charabanc from the dictionary as it isn't in use anymore

What a great article to start off the week with.

I actually have a copy of that Match fishing book on my bookshelves, and it is a lovely window back into early match fishing.

As for Charabanc; I think it is a shame thast words like this are to be excluded for Collins' dictionary.

Many of us began our fishing outings in a charabanc, myself included, and waiting on the high street corner for the charabanc (char à bancs = wagon/coach with benches) to take us down to Ibsley on the Hampshire Avon as a junior is one of my fondest memories.
