Great write up Andy. Although I have visited the area I have yet to fish for mahseer there and this has really whetted my appetite.

What is it about Old Monk and mahseer fishing that makes them the perfect duo of delights?!

Thanks for the postings guys. The point I was trying to convey in the notes is that if your gonna fish 'up north' then try to get into the spirit of the thing ... you are expected to become a 'shikari', a hunter ...

If you decide to go for it, then you will witness some of the most amazing scenery imaginable. You might not catch to the size that is available down south, but I guarantee that you will not be disappointed with the overall experience.

I've just returned from Nepal, and written some notes on that particular escapade which are currently going through the final edit with fishing magic. Hopefully, they will be available in the near future ...
