Just a request for assistance.

I am in the market for a new reel for medium/heavy feeder work mostly. I had a look at a mate's Shimano with fighting drag and was quite impressed until I found out the price!

I am just wondering if there is an option with a similar secondary drag or whether this is Shimano specific. Any advice greatly received.

i've been thinking about the buying a balzer reel from them, model cbr2. its only ?15 but it looks like ?100's worth.

balzer is some german make i think.

Balzer are a German engineering firm did some work on one of there machines once, did know they were into reels though

Have a look at the Shimano Sedona GTE. This has a Fighting Drag (which I too like) and just about all the features of Shimano's top of the range models. However the RRPs are around ?50 and street prices well below this.

sam try the new mitchell 300x got one this week from mullarkeys it seems ok a bargain at 39.99

These are up for grabs on Ebay

They look very sturdy and I would have had one myself but maanged to pick up a great Shimano reel for ?15.

Let us kno wwhat you end up with anyway
