I was wondering how many different groups there are out there that represent some asect of Angling. Here is a a few feel free to add to the list.
Tenchfishers
Grayling Society
PAC
Scottish PAC
Chub Study Group
Barbel Society
Carp Society
BSCG
ACA
NACA

Catfish Society

Ah Murray, me thinks that the BCSG and the BSCG are two differnt groups....one carp, the other barbel.

Read something about the amalgamation of various groups a coupla days back - I think there were about 30 of them - can't remember where I read it though.

Knew I'd find it - if you go to Barrie Rickards' thread in this forum (''What YOU can do for angling''), and follow the link to ''Specialist Anglers' Alliance'', it's in there - there's about 20, not the 30 I thought (I didn't count)

Its great to have so many groups within angling,but it can leave out sport/pastime a bit fragmented and pulling in different directions.How many of thes groups are members of the ACA or any other such governing body?But then again there a few so called govening groups.
Whois realy the mouth piece for angling.
I often read and wright articals on the lines of public relations and angling education/protection,made available to the general public through the media with the help and suport of angling celebs etc.
Ive also put a few sugestions to certain celeb/media folks who fish but sofar,its there time to unwind and have fun and wouldnt want that to clash with their carrers.

If we're including angling conservation groups then don't forget the Sea Anglers Conservation Network (sacn)

The open to all River group as well which is being formed to stop the loss of rivers due to syndication of certain stretches
