I bet the lad will remember that pike for a long time. Very nice read, thanks for the artical. I will making a trip south this year the target Zander. Just hope I get into a couple.

I thought it was just me! This has been the worst piking season I have experienced. I think its the mild weather. The lillies on my club lake up here in tropical Lincolnshire are still green!
I often fish the Witham but until the last couple of weeks was unfishable due to a floating "alien" weed. It was so dense that where kids had thrown stones in....they stayed on the weed.
If anyone thinks I am exagerating googlle "River Witham weed Problem"
