Looe boat fishing

Hi, I am hoping to go out in a small boat from Looe as soon as the weather gets something like it. Went out last week and only had 3 small pollock which I put back. I am new to fishing and am hoping to go trolling. What bait - lures should i be looking to use and what rod - line etc. The boat is only small so I dont want to go to far out. What is the ideal speed for trolling, any clues would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Pete

6 to 12lb class rod with 20lb braid.
i`d be trolling rapala magnum or rapala sliver plugs or drifting with a float fished live joey or live sandeel.
