What about the fins. They don't look right for a perch to me?

it's got a red tail fin, it's got rough scales and one other little give away are the perch stripes down it's sides, other than that it could be any thing.

It's a carp, I saw the clip on the tele and thats what they said it was.

I saw a clip on TV last night with a young kid holding up a definate perch.

I think your all wrong....its a bream viewed from below.

Look at the long dark anal fin....and the bronzed flanks.

I don't think they are stripes, it looks more like mud or silt to me.

Bream - deffo !

Nope - I now have to agree with Barney. Its not just the anal fin, but all 3 (whatever they are called under the body).

Plus - the red is actually a reflection of the cones, and the stripes are similarly reflections I think. Also the stripes are upside down, given the position of the "bottom" fins (what are the called).

.....or else a chub, but I'd now go bream.

The pictures on TV were different.
