I caught a very unusual looking carp in the dead of night at the weekend.

Under torchlight it was very pale coloured, sort of yellowy, and its head was a noticeable pink colour.

I had no camera.

I do not know whether this was a ghost carp or some sort of koi or a wierd mongrel.

My question is - would a ghost carp have a pink head? A sort of pale salmon pink, not a vivid pink. Or was it a koi? I know that ghosties and kois are only genetic variants on king carp.

King variety carp are modified freak and come in many different colours, shapes and sizes, as a young lad I used to catch what we called black and ambers from the local cut, these were basically koi varieties of cyprinus carpio, some were yellow and gold other black in varying degrees
