High-leak base mix???

Mainline baits sell this mix, but does it work or is it a sales gimmick?

Better still, has anyone knocked up a home made version and what did the mix consist of?

Hi-Leakage just means that there is a percentage of seed in the mix.
This means that the mix is less dense and so the flavours are able to leak off easier.

These used to be popular during the cold months when flavours were made on a base carrier that would coagulate in a dense mix and the thoughts were that a coarser texture would aid the flavour release.

Most ready baits these days use bird food @ seeds as a base + semolina + soya all of wich can be used to make a high leak bait
