Just a note for anyone thinking of coming over for early season salmon so you will know what to expect. Hi All,
1. There is to be a quota for the commercial sector based on Tag returns and historical data and
2. a bag limit of a fish a day for recreational anglers from Jan 1 to May 31
there is also a ban on the sale of rod caught fish which contributes to the conservation of the salmon no end.
Hope this is of use to you - gives you a sense of hope for the salmon's future over here - should have knock on effects for English and Welsh rivers too....
