Real reel confusion

Just begining to look at serious carp fishing. I am looking at 'carp' reels instead of my mixture of reels including my Mitchell 300s. The names are causing me some confusing. The Abu Cardinal is a 'Freerunner' The Mitchell M60 a 'Free Spool' the Okuma Epix a 'Bait Feeder' and the Shimano Aero GT a 'Bait Runner'. Are they all just different manufacturers names for the same feature?

most refer to them as "baitrunners", but that is a copywrited trademark of Shimano, so they all have to come up with names for it.

Its like the way we call hoovers, erm, hoovers!

Frothey's right, 'Baitrunner' is a Shimano copyright and they protect it vigorously. And don't forget the Fox Stratos FS which, I assume, the FS stands for Free Spool.
