POSTED ON BEHALF OF THE ACA

The Anglers? Conservation Association (ACA) is a unique environmental organisation set up in 1948 to fight pollution and other damage to waters throughout the UK. We are looking to recruit two new members of the team. We are widely recognised for our legal work, which is wide ranging but principally focused on litigation and advice for the ACA?s 850 member angling clubs and 100 river and fishery owners. The organisation also influences and challenges government policy and other decisions where they impact on the aquatic environment. The legal department currently has a caseload of 60 active cases and over 100 advice matters, and this is set to increase as the organisation continues its recent growth in membership. More information about our work is available at www.a-c-a.org

Campaigns Manager (circa ?28K)
This new role, part-funded by a WWF contract, will involve working with our member angling clubs and river owners to campaign at local and national levels for greater protection of rivers, lakes and canals and to promote the work of the ACA.

Legal Support Assistant (circa ?20K)
The role is primarily administrative, providing secretarial support to the legal department?s two solicitors, including audio-typing, taking detailed telephone messages and managing case files. It may develop into a paralegal role as further support staff are recruited in 2008 and full training will be provided.

Both posts are based full time in our office in rural Herefordshire. Stakeholder pension contributions payable. 28 days holiday in addition to public holidays.
