Help needed on fish identification

My son just returned from a holiday in Lanzarote......he went shore fishing and caught this fish

Does anyone know what kind of fish it is?

bream. not sure which. could be a very nicely marked black bream, although the stripes are not normally that pronounced.

not to sure. ive not seen a black bream with the stripes so clear before. unless its a local version. theres a lot of differant bream types.

I think it might be the Rhabdosargus globiceps
[White stumpnose]/forum/smilies/i_dont_know_smiley.gif hard to say though as it is only a drawing

Thanks for the link alan......I thought it might be one from the bream family

Its tail looks much bigger than a normal black bream. Its definately not something that we get over here (red, couch or guilthead).

Looks like Diplodus puntazzo, Sharpsnout Seabream. The intermediate stripes are a strong indicator.
