dog fishing

hi all i am thinking of going over to the west coast from newcastle to fish for dog fish i've naver fished for them before and need help.

i need to know what type of rig's/bait/line/tackle and i need the most help with the location.

and what is the best time of year.

Les I'd have a word with a few local tackle shops and see which marks have thrown up doggies recently, also have a look on google for local sea fishing websites, the info on these is often very up to date.

Tackle and rig wise, you'll need nothing special, and they aren't fussy about bait, I have had plenty on mackerel and rag.
