I am looking for:

A single rod holdall that will carry one made upavon rod,a bank stick or two anda landing net / handle. Preferably without an umbrella/shelter compartment.

Must be light weight and a fair price.

Any recommendations?

Try the Shakespeare Cypry one. Bought mine from Walto tackle, (always good for a bargain)

A couple of feet of double sided Velcro (cut into 3-4 sections)is just as good, haven't used my rod quiver for years

Think velcro would just annoy me having to undo it all the time.

I want a bag so to stop my rod, banksticks and landing net handle getting caught up in bushes/trees as I walk along.

Thanks John,

In my search for the Shakespeare Cypry you mention, I came across the Shakespeare Quba Single Rod case instead. It is almost exactly what I am looking for!

Does anyone know if it has extra side pockets for banksticks etc?

Takes about 4 sec's to undo. Never had any problems on my local river, and there can't be many more inaccessible than the Wear... 12' high giant hogweed for starters. A little easier in the winter though.

In a fall (which I regularly do) you can throw the rod before crushing it, with a holdall/quiver it's not so easy to get rid.

Just had a look at the Shakespeare web site. Looks like they have stopped making the small quiver that I use.

Looks like I'm going to have to steal it then?

Mornin'! Have you had a look at the Drennan Super Specialist? I've wanted one for years but never got round to getting one - I'veseen them usedby roving anglers who put the made uprod in the umbrella compartment- they look very light and manageable and at £15 the cheapest I've seen. Here's the link;

Hmm, Thanks for that Jimmy. Looks good but I want it even simpler. Rather like the Shakespeare mentioned above, but with a small side pocket to fit a bank stick and landing net handle........and thats it. No umbrella, no other rods and light weight.

Hi Jonathon. I use the Drennan super specialist quiver. Its the nearest to what you want that I've found. Korum do a single rod holdall with a bankstick pocket in it. Its got a small umbrella pocket on the top but it doesn't add much to the size.
