Jacks and Skimmers.

Hi all,

Been fishing for many years now,

but never known whatsize do jack pike become just pike

same with bream, skimmers when they are small what size are they when

they are not skimmers anymore.

It's a rough guesstimation. Probably will change for pike.

Twas a skimmer we had on our last trip out i believe 12 odd, you still not sent me the pics, mind you, could of been a lump or two you had on! /forum/smilies/i_dont_know_smiley.gif

I would say 7lb for a pike and 2lb for a skimmer.

It is, of course, meaningless.

A 12lb bream is just about the right size for a livebait if you're after 30lb pike, it's just a question of finding the 14lb TC rod that you need to cast it out...............

With bream you throw them back in on their sides, just like a stone, and if they skim the surface of the water your question is answered.
