technically yes....but the 2 are hardly comparable. Don't want to detract from the more recent catch, but the original salmon still is the rod caught record for the species, an indigenous species too, and not one that regularly grows to 100 lbs plus. The recent wels catch will be forgotten aboutby next month,whereas Miss Ballantine's salmon will probably still be the record in 10, 20 or more years time.
