Claire (Reels on Wheels Volunteer)has been to her local tackle shop again and we now have the choice of two dates for our French safari. These dates are for one week starting on a Saturday and finishing on Saturday.
Just to remind everyone of what we are planning, a weeks fishing on a 12 acre closed (completely fenced and not in a river system) lake with room for 12 anglers.
This will be a drive and survive trip, everyone in bivvies unless you have a motorhome or such in which case you will be able to park just behind your swims, there are toilets and running water on site but don't expect 5 star luxury.
On the food front R-O-W will provide a BBQ on the first and last night of the trip including a couple of glasses of wine or a couple of small beers. The rest you will need to arrange yourself on camps stoves or your own BBQ. (No open fires on site)
The lake has been fishing really well recently with Commons to 40lb+ and Mirrors to close on 40lb in the last 3 weeks there have also been sturgeon to nearly 50lb and cats to nearly 90lb, these are huge fish that you would not easily find in the UK and certainly not at the price of this trip.
During the winter there is more carp going into the lake with 3-4 40lb+ and a dozen or so 20lb-30lb so we will all stand a chance of PBs, there are also tench to double figures and Roach well over 3lb so we should all have a ball.
This trip will include the whole lake between us and the two BBQs, it will not include any travel, travel insurance or medical insurance, these you will need to arrange your self or perhaps in small groups.
Now the impotant bit .... the costs, if we get 8 people it will cost £175 if we get 10 £140 and if we can get the full 12 people to fill the lake it will only be £116 including the BBQs per person.
THE DATES AVAILABLE ARE EITHER THE 19TH APRIL 2008 OR THE 10TH MAY 2008
We will be making the booking in 2 weeks time at which time we will require a £50 deposit from each person coming with the balance due 8 weeks before the trip.
Please let me know which date you would prefer as soon as possible.
