a knotty problem

when using a coated braid (like stripteaze) what knot would you use to form the loop to attch the rig? i.e. not the hook end? I've tried a simple overhand loop but the coating on the braid makes the knot slip... or should i be stripping the coating in order to tie that end as well (which sort of seems to be missing the point as I don't want a hinge effect there, just at the hook end)...

A figure 8 loop knot should do it.
