That really would reduce the number of fish caught.

That's exactly what she meant, Pikey!
She was saying how if two fishing boats were to go round in circles, they could herd the shoal of fish (the same fish species no less!!) in between them and then just dip there nets in and take the fish they needed!
Genius huh?
