I spent an hour at this lake last week and it looks more beautiful than ever, the leaves on the trees with their autumnal shades was simply astounding, due to the mild weather there were even still blooms on the lily's.

As I said in the article I only ever intended to fish the lake for one year and I remained true to this. Though the lake has thrown up of late some massive gudgeon of all things, the thought of catching a record nudginggudgeon is just the kind of alternative challenge I adore and may tempt me back.

I might pop there tonight on all Hallows Eve and see if I can spot one of the rumoured restless spirits that walk the banks, grounds and hall, and maybe ask for permission and good luck in any future gudgeon challenge I might undertake at their chosen place of rest.
